Diamond Pendants

I was wondering what I should get my girlfriend for valentines day. We're both freshmen in college, and everything is going really well, and we both love each other deeply, but I'm not sure what I should get her.

I wasn't sure since it was our first valentines day if I should get her something like flowers and chocolate, or lingerie, or bath & body stuff. At first I was planning on getting her a diamond heart pendant, or something like that, but I wasn't sure if that would be setting the bar too high for the future, and I should wait to give expensive jewelry.

So if people could give me some idea of what sounds appropriate or give me links to some good gift ideas that would be wonderful. Money isn't too important, but probably under $200 total, unless it's really nice.

I want to sell some Royal Mint jewellery (unwanted gifts) to a scrap gold/ second hand jewellery merchant but I don't know what it is worth. I have the following:
A 9ct gold chain & cross bar (with 10 small diamonds) & a 22ct half sovereign pendant from 2003 - limited edition of 5000. Also a pair of 9ct gold earrings in a cross design with a small emerald in the centre & very small diamonds. Finally a sterling silver fine chain with pendant & 3 small sapphires. Can anyone help? What is the minimum I should take? I had a look on www.royalmint.com & the jewellery on there isn't cheap, but if you are selling it on second hand what sort of price can you expect to get?

You would be well advised to take them to a reputable jewellery store or two, or a reputable pawnbroker, they also buy scrap gold and will give you a fair price.

Obviously you wont get full values as they need a margin for profit. If i were you i would also consider a reputable auction house as you might get a better price there, but get a valuation first and put a reserve on at 70% of full value.

For the price, I'm sure its small…I've looked at JCPenney's circle pendants a few times online and then looked at them in the store, and I was disappointed with their sizes.

Yes, its bigger than a penny.

Overall, its a nice necklace. It just depends on your preference when it comes to it's size.

from reading the website…it seems like you may have to give them a call to give them exactly what you want.. depending on the grade, quality, cut etc… and what setting you want it in..

stating certified diamonds are priced from 300- 20,000

also stating… having necklaces,rings.. etc priced from 99.99 to 8,000

for valentines day the pendant is a beautiful diamond heart it was a couple hundred. i dont know if i can afford a chain. does this look bad just giving the pendant with no chain?

Sounds fancy. If it's that stunning to look at, you'll probably want to just keep it that way. She'll understand. Actually, I don't think she'll notice at all if it's that beautiful, and I'm sure it is. She probably has a chain already that she can swap pendants with.
Walmart sells nice chains. And you know walmart! totally affordable.

Or, if she asks about the chain, you can coolly say, "Oh, I wanted to shop with you for one so I get some more time with you. Do you like it?" (girlfriend will say: "Like it? No way I love it! I love youuuuuu <3") or something cute and suave like that :]

I was sitting in restaurant with an old b/f whom i am no longer with. we were sitting in a restaurant with this other couple and all i knew was that the guy was a friend of his. and he had taken off a necklace he was wearing; it was a gold chain and on the chain was a cross, a Diamond Pendant, a christ head and an italian horn.

and he put it on the table and kept pointing and picking up the christhead saying to me “this is yours, take it off the chain, take it its yours.. and i would respond and say no the christhead isnt mine the diamond is.. because it looked exactly like the diamond pendant my father had given me when i was like 20 years old.

Just that you rememeber your father. And something he gave you. You guys must’ve been close.

I have inherited various things I don't want and wonder what is the best way to sell them. I'm in Sydney. I have two silver tea-sets (cream, sugar, tea-pot, coffee-pot), lots of assorted silver cutlery but some damaged and no complete sets, silver napkin rings, silver cups and goblets, silver cocktail shakers and ashtray, a gold cigarette case (bit squashed), a gold jewel-encrusted ladies' pocket watch, a silver and diamond cross pendant, two gold and gem brooches. I have tried the auction houses for the jewellery but they are not big/valuable enough for them and can't find anything useful on ebay. Any advice on dealers or websites of use would be much appreciated.

Ebay ends up costing you on both ends..to post the item..then a percentage after it sells..go to craigslist.org..sign up for a free account..then select your country..then your state or commonwealth..and post it there ALL TOTALLY FREE!!
